Escape from Cook Inlet, 8/3/17

Our camp last night was perfect and we slept good. No rain as well so all dry to start the day with a little sun poking thru ?.

News flash. For someone who has never liked oatmeal I had some really good oatmeal for breakfast. I discovered that the secret is apples, blueberries and cinnamon sugar. Really good ?.

We were monitored by the sea otters in the kelp all day. They are great little critters. We spotted several bald eagles and a couple whales as well. And plenty of rocks and cliffs to paddle around along the way. Here are some shots from the day.

We had a really good lunch stop and had home made potato salad. My hats off to Chef Angela for all the great meals! I also found a cell phone signal so was able to call Julie for the last time until we get into Seward.

Our destination for the night was Dangerous Cape. We made it with no trouble. This is another great beach to camp on. Note that we are avoiding the sand beaches and setting up camp on the all the small stones. This is much better than dealing with sand everywhere. The cove we are in is absolutely stunning. Here are some shots of our camp on Dangerous Cape.

Angela crashed on the beach after we got the kayaks up above high tide line. She deserved a rest after all the logistics, shopping and loading to get ready for the adventure.

The Chef is at it again in the kitchen as I’m put this post together. We will be having orange and pepper chicken over rice. It doesn’t get any better.

That’s it for day two.

Happy Paddling
