We have had excellent weather and today was no exception. After a great breakfast we loaded up th van and went back into town to catch the start of the second day of the procession. Here are some shots of that.
All the little girls dressed up with a basketful of bread and flowers for the church. They were followed by all the moms with little babies in strollers. I was amazed how many little kids and babies in strollers there were for such a small town. 
After that came the horses and tractors dragging the big logs. 
After seeing the start of the procession we high tailed it out of town and had a great drive thru the mountains to Lago di Barrea. This lake is another one with small towns around it up in the mountains. Absolutely beautiful. 
After a great paddle around the lake, we loaded up the kayaks and went up to the little town in the woods above the lake for a very nice lunch in a really neat spot. 
Following lunch we all walked around town and took lots of pictures then headed back to the coast. We’ll stay in the same B&B for the next four nights and paddle multiple locations along the Adriatic coast in the Abruzzo province. It will be good to get back into some big water and see a different coastline.
